One of the main reasons healthy, fertile women fail to conceive is due to poor timing of intercourse. If you want to increase the chance to get pregnant, you need to know when you’re most fertile period. And ovulation predictor kits can help you know your most fertile period.
Ovulation kits and fertility monitors work to determine your expected ovulation by taking luteinizing hormone (LH). Luteinizing hormone is always present in your urine and will increase just 24-48 hours before ovulation. LH surge triggers ovulation, the release of an egg from one of your ovaries. And it became the most fertile time of your cycle.
However, the LH surge does not guarantee that you will ovulate and some women experience multiple LH surges throughout the course of their cycles. But some people find a fertility monitor to become more comfortable and easier than tracking body temperature and cervical mucus.
The ideal time to test is in the afternoon, around 2pm, though testing may safely take place from 10am to early evening. And be sure to test at the same time every day. Also, reduce your liquid intake about 2 hours before testing as a diluted liquid sample can prevent or hinder LH detection.
Three days immediately after the positive test is the best time to have intercourse and increase the chances of becoming pregnant.
